"The Ballad of the Brigade"

The women are wailing, the men are grim
Their eyes are dark and the sun's gone dim
The call sounded out, sounded high and low
Who would answer it? Who would know
What to do with dirty, low-down folk
How to help the sad, the girls, the broke?

Far in the east where the echo died
Two men stood up, they took in stride
What to do, how to save this town
Their arms were flexed, their faces frowned
Better lock your doors, better be prepared
Help is coming, so you better be scared!

Cowboy and Viking, both tough and mean
Their wrath is strong, their muscles lean
A dangerous pair, no doubt of that
They'll catch those bullies and lay them flat
Tears turned cheers when they came around
The Brigade stood up and bad stood down.
